G. M. McCrossin, Inc. is an established firm with roots in central Pennsylvania that reach a diverse collection of satisfied clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. It was founded in 1951 and steady growth led to its incorporation in 1958. Through years of hard work, and a dedicated staff, the firm continued to grow until today G. M. GMM's founder and namesake, Gilbert M. McCrossin, had a long period of invaluable preparation prior to the establishment of the firm. Trained as a Civil Engineer, he gained experience in all forms of heavy construction during the 1930s and 1940s. As a final step before founding his own construction company, he spent several years managing a large building and supply company. GMM's co-founder and former Secretary-Treasurer of the firm, Gertrude H. McCrossin, had a background in secretarial and bookkeeping work. The combined experience and training of the founders provided the solid base required for the company's outstanding success in construction. Later, long time Vice President and invaluable GMM employee Robert M. Leahey will take ownership of G.M. McCrossin where the company remains in family hands to this day.

The company's first jobs were small. Success on these early jobs for the West Penn Power Company at Milesburg, Pennsylvania, and the J. H. France Refractories in Snow Shoe, Pennsylvania, helped establish the firm's reputation for reliability and high quality work. The firm grew apace with the expansion of the national economy during the 1950s and 1960s. In fact, the firm has consistently outpaced the general economy, maintaining its growth during both boom and recession periods.
